Apparently these are standard on Triumph TR series. There has been some
discussion of these recently on that list. The slight pressure keeps the
pistons floating just off the disc and prevents them sliding into the caliper
during hard cornering. With a head start to the disck the stopping is
somewhat faster and requires less peddle travel.
