  It might work, and might be worth trying first.

  However, the aggregate knowledge observed from a thousand
LBC owners springtimes, the "drop the trolley jack" method
seems to be the 400 pound gorilla of the stuck clutch problem.

  In other words, other things sometimes work, but this 
method almost always works and is often what finally solves
the problem.
