As of 5 this morning, most protesters have gone home after they decided to
stop the stretching of essential resorces. In typical Brit style
there were no threats to the tanker drivers, just polite requests that they'
"might possibly wish to not cross the entrance to the refinery." Fuel
stocks are practically zero. No bread or milk in my local shops for 2 days.
Powdered milk and freezable bread long gone. Hospitals closed to
non-essential surgery. My wife cannot get to work unless she gets allocated
fuel from the NHS emergency store (protesters are quite happy for fuel to be
despatched to fire/ambulance/police etc so long as they don't let joe public
get any). Tony Blair got caught lying twice on TV about the protest. I
guess his days are numbered. I'm on sick leave from work (busted knee, no
non-essentials etc ) but there is no jet fuel left at Cardiff unless the
aircraft tanker it in from abroad. Massive public support at about 85%.
Seems to be working, except that some gas stations were selling the last
stocks at £1.30 per litre ( $8 per gallon)!!!!!!!!!
