gee! that's not too bad! that is what i paid for 4 dunlop's that i use to
show my healey with on .
i originally had goodyear blue streak slicks(since it is a race car ) and
the judges did not like the slick tires. so i opted to get 4 treaded dunlop
racing tires that looked the early 1960's period. but what i wanted was
not available here on north american continent at all! the tires were some
sort of spec series tire for a european race series. i had to arrange
shipment from england to canada, the tires were put into a tire dealer's
shipment that was being trucked across the border and then they were
U.P.S.'d to me from conneticut. when it was all said and done i had 4 non
department of transportation approved tires(d.o.t.) for just under 800.00!
the tires could not be shipped directly to me, or anywhere in the U.S.for
some reason or another. so gee, 5 new tires for a restored car for under
a grand? not too bad! and no hassles with customs!
getting a car restored is not too hard to do but getting the finite details
right is where money comes into play.......
