Hi Listers,
Gary & I are in the final stages of planning our little jaunt from
Drain, Oregon to Slidell, Louisiana. We will be leaving early the
morning of May 4, and plan to stop the first night in Rawlins, Wyoming.
We will leave Rawlins the next morning, and go through pertty much all
of Nebraska, turning south at Lincoln to Independence, Missouri, where
we plan our second stop. From there, an easy drive to the Branson area,
where we will visit friends for a day or so. From Branson, we will cross
Tennessee to Huntersville, NC to visit family, and possibly do a day
trip up to Winston-Salem. We will leave Huntersville and go through SC,
Georgia, Alabama & Mississippi to Slidell. We will probably run I-85
most of the way. After staying a few days with the grand daughters (and
their parents), we will be driving home through Texas, New Mexico,
Arizona & Nevada. Are there any listers along our route who would have
time for a quick cup of coffee as we fly through? Any "must see" places
we should stop at? Any areas that we should avoid at all cost?
