To be honest, until a few days ago *I* didn't know what anthrax was
(other than a nasty disease). School just doesn't teach stuff like
that, at least they didn't when I went to high school, which I started
in about the same time they were formed. Didn't teach it in college or
grad school either (Comp Eng and Comp Sci). Seems that school is more
concerned with the obscure rather than the practical. Why don't they
teach things like balancing a checkbook, understanding insurance,
mortgages, compound interest, etc.

Although actually, anthrax is kind of obscure, or at least it was.
