Hey Flounder, sure it wasn't AEA 648???

If you go to http://www.ahsdc.org/goblins/tech/cams.htm (or from
http://www.ahsdc.org/, follow the
"Technical" link, then select "Choosing a cam for A Series Engines". This
article is a period article,
so many of the cams are not available retail anymore! Naturally, it doesn't
include the new cams
available from places like APT.)

Follow the link to "Leyland factory cams", it has all the details (timing,
lift, and recommended valve clearance)
on the AEA 648 cam. The only AEA designation that I know about were the
factory cams...

If it really is the a "649", then I can't help you!

Mike

Got a wide lobe cam here... only marks on it are "AEA 649"...

So, it's a 649 grind cam (good) ... but who made it? Any ideas?
