    What you need to do (instead of denial) is to say "Hi, I'm Glen and I 
screwed
up".
No one will pick on you simply because no one else has ever done something so
silly, myself included.  Wanna hear a hypothetical story about a clutch disc
(clearly marked "engine side") that allegedly was put in backwards?
