Hi Frank - Thanks for your kind words about my wiper control.
Originally I designed the wiper control to prevent scratching of the
windshield and to insure the wipers go to the park position any time the
Ign. Sw. is turned off.
I had a problem with one of my cars that due to my forgetting to turn off
the wiper switch, the blades became stuck to the windshield near the park
position, but not on it.
The next time I used the car some days later, I noticed a burning smell
and found the wiper motor to be very hot. I discovered that I had left the
wiper switch on and turned it off. Switched the Ign. back on and found the
motor was still getting very hot. I finally discovered the problem and freed
up the blades so they could get to the park position and remove the ground
that was causing the problem.
The intermittent circuit was added due to a suggestion from one of my club
members.
The circuit can be set up with a fixed delay time(some modern cars have a
fixed delay of about 4-5 sec.) if the remote interval is not wanted due to
mounting problems. This requires a two speed wiper switch so it can be
switched on and off,or you could use a toggle switch to switch intermittent
in and out. Anyway thanks again. Best regards - Ed
