That shouldn't be much of a concern.  They aren't really freeze plugs, just
called that because they pop when your motor freezes.  (Other parts of the
block "pop" too, unfortunately).  Those are more accurately called "core
plugs" and are a part of the casting process, if I'm not full of shit on
this one.
