Yes, but I think the French word is actually coupi with an accent on the
e, meaning cut = the car had its two rear doors chopped off? 8-)
I lived twenty years in England, mostly in the Midlands, and I never heard
any other word than lorry I did not even know trucks were called wagons
in some parts of Britain! Thanks, Guy!
By the way- anybody knows if they still have Banks Bitter? What about Mild?
Or is it all Lagers nowadays? I have not been back to Britain since I left
in 1990.
