Hi David,

Sounds suspiciously like the fuel sender unit is frozen in space!  Typically
they can be removed and gently worked loose, if indeed thi is the case.  You
can then measure the resistance in ohms.  look at Gerards site for more info
on the values.

Yes, you can adjust the guage, but this is REALLY touchy.  The wires in it
are about the thickness of a bald guys hair and are very easily broken.
That and the placement of the tiny magnets are best left to the pro's.  I've
always used Foreign Speedo in San Diego for that adjustment.  I send the
guage and the sender and get it back properly calibrated.  I just give them
money and it's done right the first time!
