When I bought my Midget it had a piece of carpet, nicely bound around the
edges laying over the cracked dash. I probably looked OK when it was new, but
it
was bleached and crumbling from the Southwest sun by the time I got it.
I am thinking of a carpet one for my new Beetle. The enormous painted dash
is a great dust collector. Also, it's black and a great heat sink in the summer.
