If it's anything like the Spridget MC, I took a cheap pair of needlenose 
pliers and used my bench grinder to grind them thin and narrow, then ground a 
tip 
on both jaws that would fit into the Circlip.  It slides down into the 
cylinder beautifully and fairly well does the job.
