At the monthly meeting of the Chicagoland MG Club last Monday, we had a
guest speaker. He was a friend of the club president as well as a cop. He
said a few things and then opened the floor for questions. The topic of
seatbelts came up. His opinion is that if the car currently has seatbelts in
it, whether the car originally came with seatbelts or not, you will get a
ticket in Illinois if you do not wear them. Works for me. I feel funny
getting in a car and not putting on seatbelts any more. A shoulder belt
means they won't stop you to ask questions and THAT is always a good thing
in my book!
