Two questions
  1) Are there any easy alternator upgrades for a 1978 1500? One that does
not require new brackets or rewiring?

  2) My fuel gauge has never worked, however I have tracked it down to the
fuel sender (I unplugged the sender & grounded it & the gauge went to full)
Is it better to replace the sender Or can it usually be easily replaced?

As a side note I took the Midget out for the first time after starting the
rebuild two years ago. My 14 year daughter who sat in the passenger seat
said it went 600 mph (felt like it to me to). Brakes worked horribly but
they did manage to stop us in time.
