Thread-topic: Weber VS SU Question
Hello,

I personally have a downdraft Webber.
It came out of the box, was bolted on and was working after adjusting 1
screw.
I then spend an other 1/2 day 6 months later to select the proper jets.
I have never had to do anything else to it, and the adjustment stay
where they are (ok, I change the idle lean from time to time to pass
emission and to adjust to seasonal variation).
My car starts instantaneously every day (yes, even in the Idaho winter)
after barely 1 turn of the crank.

Then on the other side, I see the other LBC cars owner continuously
talking about Sus, and adjusting them, and tuning them, and balancing
them, having countless tech session about them...
BTW, last time they had a SU tech session, we also had a Webber tech
session. After 15 minutes, we were done and enjoying a lager... It took
the SU peoples a couple of extra hour to join us :-)

So my take is: get a Webber and start looking at the other stuff in your
car...
Now, if you are a purist, or a specialist, or a performance guru, or
have lots of time, or enjoy spending 1/2 of your battery charge starting
your car in a cold morning, by all means, go for the Webber...

Note: your experience my vary....

Now, they are a couple of problems with the Webber: for example, there
is no intake for the CamCase on them (as in the SU), and this can cause
problems (ie: oil poring out of the dip stick) that will need additional
steps to be fixed (such as drilling a hole in the manifold and
connecting your can case exhaust here, with a properly sized restrictor.

Now, if you really like Sus, get yourself a V12 E type with 6 (or 8, I
do not remember) Sus (3/4 on each side) that will need to be adjusted
and balanced!!!! If you thought that lucas was bad :-)
