I completely lost the sight in my left eye last fall, using the weed eater. I
had my prescription glasses on, and nothing directly impacted my eye, but it
started out looking pink. Thinking it was pinkeye, I went to the eye doctor, and
they treated it as a bacterial infection. As it got worse, I went to
specialists, and more specialists, until finally, the sight was gone. Shortly
after that, they realized it was a viral infection (from decayed plant matter. I
stirred up some dead leaves, weed eating the back sidewalk). The medicine had
been killing the bacteria, leaving my eye open for the virus to run rampant on.
Using a medicine that is so groundbreaking, that no one in my county has even
heard of it, the eye got somewhat better. Now through a regimen of steroid drops
to help fade the scarring, the vision is starting to return to a semblance of
clarity in that eye. It will never be the same again, but at least it is going
to be better than blind.
Lesson learned, ALWAYS WEAR GLASSES IF YOU EVEN "THINK" YOU COULD GET HURT!!
Blind people don't drive Spridgets.
