"Lake effect" is it's own weather system for
sure!

Was based in UCA, NY for many years
and spent some time
with Jetstream International out of Erie,
PA for two seasons...it never ceased to amaze me how I could take off and fly 
south
for less than 5 minutes to find myself in gorgeous CAVU conditions while it was
snowing like hell all day in ROC, BUF, SYR,
ART, ERI and UCA!!

And my boss wondered why I wouldn't set
up permanent residence in upper New York
State!!! You gotta be kiddin' me!! :):)
