Well after an amazing drive to Riegelsville, PA at 5 a.m. and about 1
hour of hanging around and waiting to be told anything we all headed
out to stand by our cars. Both the MG's, 2 Porsche's, a van and a
Chevelle we cut from driving in the movie. It seems they had a problem
with foreign cars in a setting in Maine. We were told the car was "too
bright" but they had seen a picture of the car which is the frustrating
part. There were 6 cars out of about 25 that were cut from driving.
Needless to say the owners of the vehicles were a little on the angry
side. After much debate Lambert and I decided to say on set and see
what happened. We were allowed to ride as passengers if we so desired.
I decided that I did not drive an hour away to just turn around and go
home so we stayed and rode as passengers in a '87 Jeep Cherokee. The
driver of the Cherokee we had run into at the gas station bright and
early this morning so when we got cut we asked if she had room for two
passengers which she did. We ended up doing 2 scenes with the cars.
The first one we were stationary in a parking lot outside a church and
the 2nd one we are the second to last car in the line of cars. There
is a "lime" green station wagon that is the last car. So if any one
sees the Charlotte's Web movie when it comes out just look for the Jeep
(it is the only one) and that is the car we rode in. At lunch they
told the 6 drivers that had been cut that they could go home and the
rest of the drivers went on to New Jersey to film another scene. We
even got paid for mileage even though the 6 cars did not go anywhere.
I guess that is pretty good. So all in all it was a fun and
frustrating day. It turned into a beautiful drive home with the top
down on the Midget though. That was the best part of the whole day
other then finding out more info on how to keep doing this.
