Ahhh,

I'm afraid I was misunderstood.  My point was that earthquake deaths in THIS
country are very few in number and are GREATLY exceeded by deaths to
hurricanes and tornadoes.  As BZ pointed out, unless you live in a mudbrick
condo, earthquakes are just a little joke we use to keep the rest of the
country from joining us in our hot tubs and drinking up all our Chablis.

I've been in CA all my life and obviously have lived through all the quakes
since 1952, BFD!  More entertainment value than anything else unless you were
one of the unlucky few driving through the Cypress structure in Oakland a few
years back, and even then the number killed didn't even come close to the
number that died in a single hurricane this year.

If quakes bother you, buy a water bed and get some value out of them.
