"New England Classics"

Mark Evans....been in the biz for many years.
Had a tuned 1275 done by his firm many years ago when he was located just north
of Bridgeport Airport.

Engine originally came out with a slight
bearing knock which I immediately detected. I returned the car. Mark himself
drove it, confirmed the slight bearing knock, took the car immediately "back
in", and returned the "fixed" product within a week, no further charge.

That motor ran beautifully and well for many, many moons and price was
reasonable.

He can be a bit snobbish and less than
easily approacheable at times but on the
whole, he's pleasant enough and most importantly, does stand by his shop's work.

He's been in the biz a good, long time and
most likely has the contacts to get you the
car you want at fair market price given
reasonable time.

(His home page suggests he has grown wise
and should be spoken to in specifics to avoid unintended misunderstandings.:)

His old partner Kent Bain is right up the
road from Mark on Barnum or Stratford
Ave. (forget which). Kent is the son of
the late actor, Conrad Bain. Kent runs
Classic Restorations and like Mark, can
get you what you want at fair market
value. Kent is a little more approacheable
than Mark but they're both "OK", though
different.

They're both out to make a buck but they won't screw you. I have found them to
be
fair. Just don't take anything for granted and don't be afraid to talk
specifics. Know
what you want and don't want.
