Thread-topic: O2 sensor and others
Hello,

I am planning to build an O2 sensor for my car while I am at it...

I plan to use a small PIC microcontroller with build in ADC (analog to
Digital converter) to get the data from the sensor and then transmit it
to my calculator (HP calculator of course) through the RS232 port for
display, logging and graphing...

While I am at it, is there other items that I might want to monitor/log?

I think that I can get the ignition signal as a 12V data from the coil -
pin, and I should be able to get coolant temperature (I do not know
exactly how that works however) from the temp sensor....

But the oil pressure is an on/off switch, do you know where I can find
an anlog switch (ie: from which car I can pinch one if I go to a junk
yard)?

Also, for the O2 sensor, I understand that I am looking for a 0.45V for
perfect tuning, but do you know how linear the data is? Or is it more of
an on/off type switch?

Regards, cyrille
