That's the common wisdom alright, and Robert's setup sure looks great, 
but its's hard for me to justify the price of the Maniflow intake 
manifold. We are not running full race cams and max compression, and I 
like to think that the factory log problems can be mitigated somewhat. 
There are some awful powerful SCCA 1275's that seem to prove that. I 
started with the HS2 manifold and made some nice O-ringed adapters to 
mount the HS4's, but am working on the B manifold now.  The HS2 manifold 
can't be opened up large enough at the mounting flange without welding 
to take advantage of the larger carbs IMO, although it might just work 
fine for the street.  The early 1-1/2 carbs even had the same bolt 
pattern as the 1-1/4's.
