apply it to the nut and give it a rap to TIGHTEN ever so slightly!! 
Re-foam,
wait, gently try just a little UN-DO.  Re-foam, tighten, re-foam and most
likely it will now just un-do. 

Remember that this nut is just like a brake line nut in the it should
turn INDEPENDENTLY of the tube 
and sender assembly.  So not only does the nut need to unthread from the
radiator, it also needs to
spin freely on the sender bulb.  If you try to twist it out and it is not
free of the bulb you WILL twist 
(and rupture) the tube, at which point you might as well have snipped it
off with side cutters!!!
