Charlie,
         I've had experience with several wood stoves. The barrel 
ones are good.

         HOWEVER.... I would be more than VERY reluctant to use one 
anywhere near a car workshop.
         There are just too many fumes crawling around the floor. I 
would not endorse any kind of open flame, in fact.

         But then, I'm cautious.

         But then I've also lost everything to fire.  Devastating.
