[Spridgets] Getting ready to pull engine and change cam

Steve,
There wasn't a high compression head. The difference between the high and low
compression engines was the piston dish volume. In any case the 266 cam would
be the best choice for the street. We spend far more time below 4K than above,
and being able to pull away smoothly from 1K without racing the engine is a
beautiful thing.
Regarding the clutch, I would spend some more time diagnosing the hydraulics
and linkage before pulling the lump.

Hi all,

Well my clutch problem is back. It seems that when the bugeye sits for a
week and is cold it works for about 20 minutes. After that it fails to fully
disengage, making it impossible to shift once stopped.. I will check a few
more things this weekend, but I am mentally getting ready to bite the bullet
and just pull the lump out and see what is wrong.

This will lead to replacing the cam, which I should have done initially.

Question is which cam?

Engine is a 1275 with +30 over pistons and stock high compression head.
Exhust is into a 3-1 header with dual HS2 carbs.

Looking for good drivability with more umph.

>From reading around it seems that the following cams are all reasonable
choices, but some of the information I found is inconsistent. Would love to
hear if anyone is using any of the following: Having a real hard time
differentiating.

Kent 266 or mp266
Kent 276
Piper 270
Swift SW5-07

Thanks

Steven
