I just redid my rear brakes on my Bugeye.=C2=A0 The tab with the hole in it=
for the spring on the backing plate is at the 3 or 9 o'clock position depe=
nding what side you are on.=C2=A0 There is a tool for the steady spring tha=
t looks like a screwdriver with a cup on the end of the shaft.=C2=A0 The ri=
m of that cup has a tab on it that catches the steady spring allowing you t=
o turn it into position after it is compressed.=C2=A0 Just push it in with =
the "hook" at the 12 o'clock position and turn 90 degrees to catch the hole=
in the tab on the backing plate.=C2=A0 Sounds complicated, but once you ha=
ve done one it gets easier.=C2=A0 Any parts store should have brake tools.

spring in oriented the correct way it snaps on to the fitting on the backin=
g plate.=C2=A0 But of course I don=E2=80=99t remember what that orientation=
is although it =E2=80=9Clooks like=E2=80=9D the hook in the spring should =
be pointed outwards.
