My buddy just had his 1969 Fiat Spider smog checked. It had passed fine
2 years ago, so he didn't think he had anything to worry about. But...
evidently there is a new test required and his car was classified as a
"gross polluter". The smog shop was very apologetic, but said they could
not certify the car and could not re-smog it. He would have to take it
to a state run facility. Where? The mechanic didn't know. Neither did
the local DMV. So, he can't re-register his car right now and is not
getting any answers from the local gestapo. Apparently the new laws have
passed but there are not proceedures setup yet to handle them?!?!?
Anybody on the list have any idea what the new smog laws are?
