I bought brand new lower ball joints from Sunbeam Specialties
and had the same problem only to discover (major embarrassing
admission here) that I had forgotten to lube them. They do not
come lubed. As soon as I lubed them, the problem went away. I
only hope that they did not get prematurely worn out.
