Jim,

Caution, Jim,

Do not, under any circumstances, read "accompanying instructions".
Firstly, they are not written by anyone fluent in English, and are
therefore mal-translations of the original instructions written by
someone who is classified as a "tech writer". The first "qualification"
for a "Tech Writer" is to be unqualified for anything technical,
elsewise he would be more gainfully employed at a higher pay grade.
Secondly, since they know they are underpaid, "Tech Writers" take their
revenge by writing un-intelligible instructions, poorly organized,
contradictory, and basically incorrect.

Proceed with utmost caution. First, I would recommend doing it the way
you "feel" is correct. Red wires do not, necesarily, connect to
subsequent red wires, unless doing so would be catastrophic. Second,
Five pin connectors can indeed be made to fit 6 pin connectors, using
sufficient force. And lastly, remember the fine print on the warrantee
takes away all rights conferred by the BIG print.
