a) I don't know if anybody would be interested but I just bought
(Internet auction) "The Building Of Quality Cars And Trucks", from the
Rootes Group dating to about 1950. 36 pages, about 6" x 9", lots of
photos of Hillmans and Commers being built. It may be common, for all I
know y'all already have copies, but if I could get it scanned, would it
be of interest for anyone's Rootes-related web site? No Tiger or Alpine
_direct_ content.

b) I just got a 10% discount for belonging to TE/AE and/or CAT from
Paragon Performance: http://www.paragonperformance.com
1-800-270-0333, where I was getting a set of braided stainless (DOT)
brake lines, not even for the Garage Queen but for my wife's Nissan.
Nice to know being a Sunbeam enthusiast pays off occaisionally. I have
asked, and will pass along, about any Tiger applications they might
have.

c) Steve Laifman had me convinced _until_ he mentioned John Bond. That
sent me back to check my most recent issue of R&T, didn't sound right. I
guess I could try to duplicate his "feat" at the nearby (MD) remains of
the old Marlboro sports car track, but I've been told I'd need a HumVee
to negotiate the course. Cute post; keep it up, Steve.

d) The tale of the cut-up LAT 9 wheels makes us all think about
irreversible changes we make to our cars, new-old-whatever, eh? I'd be
tempted to pull a clay mold off a good wheel center, and fill it with
that "liquid metal" they sell in tubes at the hardware stores. One in
ten chance it would work, but perhaps a cheap _temporary_ fix.
