The external antenna was, to my understanding, an extra cost
option from Rootes. Since I already have one, and the hole
it comes from, my only problem was finding a replacement to
fit the whole that is already in the fender. Got one in
stainless from the Pep Boys for $7.99, and it works well.
GM stopped using those windshield antennae and have a real
one. Chrysler just went to the hidden kind.
If nothing else, it gives me a great place to hang my
"Remove Before Flight" red tag from my rockets, and to hold
down the car cover in a high wind.
