Steering Rack

Thanks to those who responded to my questions about the front cross
member.

Now I've got the steering rack out and somewhat cleaned up, what colour
should it, and the end arms, be ? Is the silvery metal left unpainted?
How about the bottom end of the steering column...the part with the
universals?
