A couple of tips on lowering your hood into the boot.

Inside the car, pull the boot cover into the car, making
sure both the back piece and end pieces hang inside
and out of the boot. Make sure the boot cover straps are
hanging outside of the boot or they will snag or possibly put
a hole in your top.

Undo the snaps on the outside and tuck top inside the
body.

Undo the tap clamps on the front bow.

Lift up top bow and remove from the spigots, Push spigots
back down.

Fold top back until the top bow is about 1/2 way down the
read window.

Fold the middle top support back tuck the top into the crease.

Rotate the side are inside.

Slowly lower the whole assembly into the boot. The whole
top should slip right down into the boot. There should be
more the enough room to allow the boot cover to cover
without stretching the boot cover.

I agree with the suggestion of finding another MK IA owner
who knows how.
