While I haven't tried a cold air induction system, there is no reason why one
shouldn't work just fine on a Tiger. Just don't expect the same type of
results when you are forcing 90+ air into the filter on those hot days!
Another consideration, if you choose to go that route has to do with the
possibility of picking up foreign debris (leaves, paper etc.) or water
through the ducting. Be careful where you place the inlets...
One other thing. While cold, dense air makes more horsepower, that can indeed
be felt, it shouldn't account for your engine having that marked a difference
in performance characteristics, IMHO. It sounds like you may be running too
rich in your carburetor jetting, which will cause a huge variance in hot vs.
cooler conditions.
You might try leaning the carb out a couple of sizes next time it gets hot as
an experiment.
