Geaoge and All,
Remember your query about The "mostly there" green Tiger in the parking
lot at the Hayward British Meet last spring?
Mark corrected updated the list with my new address and here was my
response to your query.

George and Listers:
I'm the guy with the "BRG Tiger in the parking lot, in need of a bunch
of TLC". I've been lurking on this list since I bought the car, so I
thought I'd respond. This was the car that was in the Mercury News in
March. I saw the ad for a couple of days and thought it's probably sold
but called anyway. I made arrangements with the PO son to look at the
car on Friday, because someone was "coming up from LA to look at the car
on Sat." (Is that person on the list?) The car sat in a garage in
Carpinteria for years and was not running. I towed it home and by the
end of the weekend got the engine running. I'm starting to apply the
afor-mentioned TLC. I drove it to Norm's to get an expert opinion on
what I bought. I'm in the process of re-building the hydraulics; rear
wheels, brake booster, clutch master, so far. All the seals are shot.
Thanks for the tips and red grease info, recently written here on the
list. I took the car to the alignment shop in Mt. View that was
recommended here and I'm now collecting the parts to fix the front
suspension, thanks to SS and Jim in LA. The car has a lean to the
drivers
side and shakes badly at 60mph.
George I would have liked to meet you at Hayward. The PO son told me
horror stories of the "highly modified" engine running only on aviation
gas that I would have enjoyed telling you. This is the first V8 I've
ever owned, howvever, I'm not a newbe to British cars having previously
owned Mini's, a TR3, a Jensen Healy, and currently have a 1929/35
Austin and and autocross Mini in the garage.
This Tiger is a kick, It brings a smile to my face every time I start
it.
Ex lurker,
Rick
