I just talked to the local shop about putting the bigger core in my radiator,
and I think I'd better consult the list to get someone with
exact experience. Does anyone know of a shop in the Bay Area (or one in CA
that has specific experience with this) that can do the
radiator and preferably the shroud as well? Or if someone has the Tiger shroud
I wonder if I can use that?

Thanks,

Tim

Tim,

You know, I was just thinking about your question yesterday.  I found myself
wondering whether you kept the dinky, shroud-less Alpine radiator.

If that's the case, that's the answer.  I have a 4 row, high fin count (17
fins/inch) Modine Custom Division made radiator, and the Tiger shroud.  It fit's
the Tiger end tanks without modification, as it is no thicker than the original
Tiger's. You should be able to find a junk Tiger radiator, with good end tanks,
as
a base.  The advantage is you already have the mounting nuts for it welded to
your
radiator header.  This costs about $300.  Another solution is an aluminum core.
There are some made that allow a stock Tiger shroud.
