Don,
I run 175-70 R13 on my Alpine with stock wheels. Fit
fine. Of course I also ran 235-50-R 13 on "stock" wheels that
only had a 4" band welded in to make them 8 1/2" wide.
Ran those on my Tiger II rear for several years until the tires
were no longer available.
