ok i am going to step on a few toes here but oh well. for any one who want to
shift at the redline or just before the engine explodes i challenge you to a
pink slip race! i will shift about 300 rpm or so after my peak and beat you
with two equal cars. so here is the plan. we will rent to identical cars, dyno
them, and race. on a stock mustang the best shift point is about 5200 rpm. the
only way to know for sure is to go to the track and run it. NO computer can
tellyou where to shift your car, you have to run it. for example. my tiger will
rev to 7000 but it is a slug above 5800 and even drops off before that. i can
power shift the car at 5400 rpm and break 2nd gear loose and even chirp the
tires when i go into third at 5400 rpm shifts. at 6000 nothing. yes torque is
acclereation and horce power is trap speed but you need both to be fast. like
a said i will challengw any of you.
