Here's the way Jay Leno did it for a buddy of mine a few years ago. Remove 
the stainless grille cross bar. Undo front hinge bolts from inside the mouth 
opening. Carefully lift up front of hood a few inches. Have a buddy wiggle 
the latch release cable while you jiggle the hood. It should come loose. If 
that doesn't work, maybe Leno will give you a shot on the Tonight Show. Just
