Gunny,
I also have a non-stock oil pan, aluminum,  rectangular section, with hinges
flaps on the baffles, and headers.
Any one know about this type of pan?  It  looked pretty trick.
I removed the oil pan and could get the stock starter out without removing the
headers. I properly installed the
the cork and rubber gaskets and voila' no more oil drips on the floor!
