small gauge rebuild question

I have disassembled my small gauges for interior clean-up as outlined on
Tigers United. Everything is ready to reassemble but it seems there was a
liquid gasket used to mount the glass to the case. Should this be done on
reassembly or is the new o-ring between the bezel and glass all that is
required?
