You don't seem to be getting the answer you need from the usual gurus. I
am not one, but I can tell you that I can get the rubber bung out of the
firewall and its a straight shot to the spark plug without removing any
of the throttle pedal or any other gear...on my car.
I hope its the same for your car. Just pull the carpet way down, along
with any underlay material, and it should come right out, and there is
the spark plug, presto!

yea thats what i did for all the  other plugs. It took me along time
too. 
When i used me box end, it was a long  wrench. Can i still get to the
sparkplug 
socket? Did u have to take anything off  that was in the way?
