I have, or should say, had a "show bar" installed for safety reasons.  It
was just the right height to obscure the view from my rear view mirror.
After a while, I got tired of looking at my bar in the rear view mirror and
pulled it out.  If I was really serious about safety (and didn't mind not
being able to use my soft or hard top), I would have a custom bar built and
installed, and I would make sure the damn thing is higher than my rear view
mirror!
