I always tell people that the only thing the seatbelts are good for is to
help them locate the body after the wreck ;-).

Fred,
But I think you will agree...they are potential death traps.   What with the

lack of crumple zones, absence of air bags, thin side doors, no  roll 
protection, no shoulder belts, no antilock brakes, no stability  control and
those gas 
tanks setting in the trunk......!  These are all  good reasons to keep the 
speed under 150 MPH as much  as possible.
