Did you check your engine mounts? If they're week your engine may have
shifted while this brusk maneuver and damaged the manifold?!? If this noise
would come from one of the cylinders you can check by measuring the temp at
the exhaust manifold for each cylinder. This may be an indication which
cylinder could be "backfiring", I think. Could also have shifted something
with the valves...
