Hey John, I agree...I did compliment the car....I think you bring up a good
point...funny how descriptions of condition can have such a different meaning
to different people....standards for what is considered "rusty" is definitely
a matter of opinion or perspective...like so many other things discussed on
this outlet. "Surface rust" for me has never constituted "rust". I guess I
don't worry about rust until its rusted "through" or even until the structural
integrity of the metal is gone...but I have never been able to afford to
purchase the cars out there that were as clean on bottom as they are on
top...but I completely see your thought. just for me, the areas that look
crusty and even orange underneath...dont look rusty. if I cant see daylight
from one side to the other, it usually strikes me as a car with potential...or
even with holes in the rockers...I usually see the potential. I just try to
keep thinking that like most cars, these little roadsters were built to last
50+ years...I guess I don't see original cars that look any cleaner than this
one...at least not here in oklahoma...maybe out in southern cal or arizona
things might be a bit different...

but your also talking to a guy who brought a tiger back from the dead that
probably most people would have scrapped, even today...

just a thought, not a disagreement, just a perspective...

The green one on ebay with the two hoods has been discussed here
recently. . . in a most complimentary fashion .. . Maybe I am missing
it, but after the bold "NO RUST" claim in the description, I was shocked
at how much, well, RUST there was underneath. Surface rust, probably,
but rust. . . Or maybe I am mistaken and it was Ferric Oxide, and not
rust at all ;) . .. That was enough for me to pretty much reject
everything else in the description, expect perhaps that the car is
green.
