hmm,

the LOTUS factory used to use a certain LUCAS factory for All of its 
high quality electrical stuff!

Seriously though, Lotus are already involved in building a nice electric 
Lotus, its called a TESLA roadster - top Gear did a test on it and it 
was quick until it went flat !
