Mauro,

I'm 6' tall. However, I'm long waisted and sitting I'm the height of
someone 6'4". I did opt to purchase a roll bar for my "someday it will be
running Tiger." My rational was there are only three things above the body
of the car. The flexible antenna, the fragile windshield and my head.

While the roll bar bolted to sheetmetal doesn't seem like the best option,
properly reinforced it may someday offer the difference between a reverse
Mohawk and decapitation. Even if it provides a false sense of security that
in and of itself adds to the enjoyment of driving the car. If with or
without the bar I'm a dead man, well... the less to worry about the better -
and that includes my wife.

I did once roll a car in a ditch (my wife and my first date). While that
car didn't have a roll bar it was a 4 door with its added support for the
rear doors. The roof literally caved in inches across her face. Thankfully
neither of us was injured. While I had initially been driving too fast I did
slow down considerably before the turn. So..., you never know what can
happen.

Here is So. Cal. my estimation is that I will rarely, if ever use the soft
top. So interference between the bar and the cover panels is of minor
concern.
